Dr. Susan Goers

From my earliest days of memory, I knew I would grow up to be a teacher. “School” was all I ever played as a youngster and throughout my High School career I served as a T.A. and Office Assistant whenever the opportunity arose. I was privileged to have parents that valued education enough to put me through the finest classical private schools for my K-12 years. I entered a private college in Rochester, NY for my undergrad in Theology and Education. I was so anxious to get into the classroom that I finished the four-year degree in three years. I had a position that I could not wait to start. My first year as an “official” teacher was in 1982 teaching fourth grade.

My career took many turns with homeschooling my own children, teaching all grades (except kinder) and then moving into the middle school and high school grades. I really cannot say I have a favorite. I love everything “school”; it’s just in my blood. Over the past 20 years I have completed a masters in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership. I am a life long learner and intend to stay that way.

I have also had the opportunity to run schools and train teachers over the years. I enjoy watching teachers grow in their craft and refining their classical teaching pedagogy. When I am not training teachers or headmasters, I enjoy reading, writing, camping, and spending time on the water. I have three adult children and ten beautiful grandchildren. My life is busy, but full. I am most blessed.
